All Hail the Pant Leg Man

shirt (obviously from the Pant Leg Man, but this one is very similar). shorts. sneakers. sunglasses.

I post about this shirt a lot, but I think it’s important that I give some context as to how it came into my life.

As you (hopefully) know by now, my parents and I are huge metal fans, especially my dad. About two years ago, we went to a Judas Priest concert at Nassau Coliseum. We were actually supposed to see them again at the Coliseum in September, but it got canceled. Not because of COVID, but because the venue is closing, which makes me super sad. I grew up going to concerts there.

But I digress. As we were leaving, there were the usual men standing outside selling Judas Priest tees, and my dad decided to buy me one. The man asked what size I wanted, and when I told him, he rolled up his pant legs, where various tees were hidden. He literally took it out of his pants. I bought a T-shirt from a man’s pants.

I think about that Pant Leg Man a lot. Without him, I wouldn’t have gotten one of my favorite shirts. One of my friends actually has a very similar shirt that he bought “officially,” and it’s fading and ripping. My shirt is doing just fine.

That just goes to show you, always believe in the Pant Leg Man.

A couple months back, my friend and I went to one of the coolest bars in New York, if not the world: Duff’s of Brooklyn! For non-heavy metal fans, this place is essentially a shrine to the bands I grew up listening to. Records and posters cover the walls, ceiling, and even the floor. Seriously, there’s no space that isn’t covered by some form of metal memorabilia. Even the bathrooms are cool! My personal favorites were the zombie sitting amongst the crowd, and the “Devil’s Ukulele,” signed by some of the greatest men in heavy metal. I was full of Corona and awe.

shirt (similar). leggings. sneakers. sunglasses. lipgloss (in sanctuary).

So what do you wear to a metal bar? I chose my Judas Priest tour shirt (and prayed that the friend I was meeting wouldn’t wear the same one), my trusty leggings, and a pair of heels (but my white Converse looked cute too). I wore my darker lipstick to fit ~the vibe~, and my blue light glasses once I realized how many neon signs there were.

If you’re a metal fan, I highly recommend checking Duff’s out. And if you’re not, go anyway! Just don’t get scared of the zombie I made out with.

Hey cutie patooties! I hope you’re all enjoying your summers so far. Boston’s weather has been quite all over the place as usual, but it feels so great to have finally ditched my puffy jacket and clunky boots (not that clunky is ever a bad thing, obviously…).

Remember a little while ago when I was talking about how much I love patterned pants? Here’s a pair I’ve been obsessed with since my cousin gave them to me out of her closet. It’s finally the perfect weather to wear them! As much as I like wearing tighter clothes like leggings, I love a good flowy pant.

Usually, I wear these pants with one of my bodysuits, but if they’re in my hamper, I’ll tuck this black tee into my pants. I wore my grey sweater since it sometimes gets chilly at work, and my grey TOMS, which are almost as comfortable as these pants.

Now that it’s sunny out, I’ve been wearing my Sunice Sunglasses alllll the time. Be sure to use my code CLUNKSTER25 to get 25% off your order!
